Daufuskie Island, SC— On Saturday, April 24 from 3 pm to 7 pm, families from Hilton Head, Bluffton and Beaufort are invited to come to Daufuskie Island to participate in the first annual Daufuskie Island Earth Day Celebration.
Admission is free and includes complimentary oyster roast, hamburgers, hotdogs, beverages and live music. Educational games about environmental issues such as recycling and litter control. Information on water conservation, sustainable living and much more! Participants can also take a free tour of Daufuskie’s new sustainable living farm.
The festival will be held at Jolly Shores
which is the previous home of Daufuskie historian, Billie Burn. Contact Bea Wray (noted above) for ferry information and to make reservations. The Daufuskie Island Earth Day Celebration is hosted by the Daufuskie Island Conservancy and sponsored by Dolphin Management.
The Daufuskie Island Conservancy, established in July, 2005 is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to protecting Daufuskie Island’s natural environment. The Conservancy shares knowledge through educational programs; promotes sustainable living; conserves environmentally significant land, waterways and wildlife; and implements programs that encourage earth-friendly practices.
