Soothing Sea Glass Tones
coupled with coastal artist Chase Allen’s sculptures
It’s not uncommon to look to the sea for color pallet inspiration especially in coastal decor, but I enjoy seeing the inspiration come from sources other than just the water or sky, because although it’s lovely in most applications, traditional pale blue is a little ubiquitous. I like this article in Better Homes and Gardens where the pallet is inspired by sea glass. Look at these colors!
The gorgeous blue-green is warm and soothing and just as the article states, serves well as a neutral base for any room. This example room in the article is fantastic. (Digging that driftwood lamp!)
There are numerous fish sculptures in the Iron Fish art collection which have these same blue-green tones that would work well with your beach house decor. Check out the entire collection here.
This elegant mermaid sculpture matches the sea green shades of sea glass beautifully. Special thanks to Iron Fish collectors Rich and Gale Silver for allowing us to photograph their beautiful beach house on Daufuskie Island, SC.

Also, don’t forget to see Chase’s NEW ‘Re-Invented Night Light’ line! Taking coastal lighting to a new level, these re-invented coastal sconces show off the hand-hammered texture and antique finish that his work has become famous for during the day, and then transform at night to fill your house with a natural warmth.
Here is one coastal nightlight during the day, the varied shades of blue are visible now and would go well with the sea glass inspired room we have been working on:
Now here it is at night. Look closely and you can see the light as it pours out of the 100-200 individual hand-held cuts made by metal sculptor Chase Allen.
This coastal decoration is 50″ x 32″ x 3″ and is priced at $1,675.00. (SOLD)
The frame was milled at a local saw mill on Daufuskie Island from native Daufuskie pine trees that would have otherwise been burned, adding unique character to this beautiful coastal work of art.

Here is a beautiful coastal decorated bedroom, notice the familiar shades of blue set off by the bright shades of white. This nautical wall art complements the beach house decor perfectly, and a bowl of sea glass would look great right next to the bed.
